Tips and funds raised through auxiliary staff efforts at the hospital in Bracebridge are paying off.
Over $113,878 has been used to buy much-needed equipment.
This includes money raised from the Auxiliary Craft Group, Gift Shop and Muskoka Mocha coffee bar at South Muskoka Memorial, along with community donations, which have been used to purchase a over $104,000 worth of new sterilizer.
$4,177.49 in tips from patrons at the coffee bar have purchased a Welch Allyn Vital Spot Monitor, a wireless portable machine that reads vital signs in seconds.
And money raised from the volunteer-manned HELPP Desk at the hospital has made the purchase of a $5,000 pressure infusor for IV fluids a reality in the Emergency Department.
The Auxiliary has also supported frontline workers by sponsoring lunch for hospital staff on two different occasions.
