There has been a positive case of COVID-19 at Pita Pit in Huntsville.
The company has released a statement to Muskoka 411, after news of the case went viral on social media.
It says on August 30th a member of the Pita Pit crew at 130 Howland Drive in Huntsville tested positive for COVID-19, and as a result, the entire crew was immediately sent home to self-isolate.
Pita Pit says both the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit and the Ministry of Labour have re-inspected the restaurant and deemed there to be NO RISK to the public.
It adds that as a result, there was no reason to close the store, nor notify the public.
Pita Pit insists there is no one currently in the store who has had any contact with the positive-testing crew member.
In an email to Country 102, Andrew Bridle from Pita Pit Muskoka wrote, “I appreciate the opportunity to provide a statement and will forward that to you as early as possible on Monday. We want to provide the Health Unit officials an opportunity to review and include a statement as well, since it was them who deemed the situation “NO RISK to the public” and advised to therefore not making a public statement.”
