It’s National Denim Day.
It is the main fundraiser for the CURE Foundation, which funds prevention, treatment and support related to breast cancer across Canada.
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. These individuals are our mothers, aunts, daughters, sisters and neighbors.

To recognize the impact of this disease on not only them, but their families, while honouring those lives that have been taken, the County of Simcoe is proclaiming Tuesday, May 11 as National Denim Day.
“Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been impacted by breast cancer, in my case my wife Sandy is a 13-year survivor,” said Warden George Cornell. “On behalf of County Council, we feel it is extremely important to support the CURE foundation in continuing to raise awareness and vital funds towards research and further treatment advancements. Please join me in recognizing National Denim Day.”
