It’s a messy situation at times, but the Town of Huntsville says Canada Goose dropping are being picked up every day in the municipality’s parks.
The number of droppings will decrease as goslings grow and take flight in the coming weeks.
More from Colleen MacDonald, Huntsville’s Manager of Parks and Cemeteries.
“We have a few phone calls this time of year every year about the problem and one question asked was ‘how do we plan to keep the geese out of our parks?’ and, simply, we don’t plan to keep the geese out of our parks – they’re part of our parks and they are a beautiful part of our parks,” she said, via an update on the Town’s Youtube channel.
Whole families of geese will remain grounded until the young can fly.
The average adult Canada Goose leaves droppings every 12 minutes.
