The Gravenhurst Public Library is excited to share its new summer program calendar filled with free, exciting programming for all ages, all summer long.
On Monday, July 4th at 3 pm, they will officially kick off their summer programming season with a special launch event at the Lions Pavilion at Muskoka Wharf, 810 Bay St.
“It’s been two years since we’ve been able to welcome the community back into the library for programs and we have such a jam-packed summer planned,” says Jennifer Whipp, Child and Youth Services Librarian.
Come July 4th, the library will share details of its programming, including a discovery series filled with geocaching or stop motion animation, fairy garden fun, mini makers, reading clubs, story times, and much more.
“There are many great programs for people of all ages to enjoy and have some hands-on fun,” says Whipp, “(and) to celebrate our launch, we’re thrilled to have Stunt Ventriloquist Tim Holland join us to entertain everyone. Tim is amazing, he does all of these incredible death-defying stunts like riding a unicycle and juggling and walking on stilts and he does it with this amazing troupe of characters – they are very funny, very entertaining to watch, and really it’s going to be fun for the whole family.”
Whipp says the library will be completely back to its full list of summer programs this year including several options – ones running in-house/in person, some happening virtually and a full slate of programs happening outside as well for those who are more COVID-19 cautious.
The fun won’t be just limited to the library this summer; Staff will also be out at the Gravenhurst Farmers’ Market each Wednesday with stories, games, crafts, and songs.
Programs will run weekly, Monday to Friday. Calendars will be available at the launch event, at the library and online at www.gravenhurstlibrary.com.
