A pair of Watt Public School students are raising money to help build their friend a swing set.
Students Keegan and Lalayla have brought tip jars in to the Old Country Kitchen and Bent River General Store locations on Hwy 141 and the Shell Gas Station at Windermere Rd and Muskoka Road #4 where people can drop off donations for the cause.
Their friend is in a wheelchair and they thought it would be great to raise money and build a swingset for them.
Old Country Kitchen owner Samantha Isaac says the project could cost as much as $5,600.
For those wanting to drop off a donation, the Old Country Kitchen is located at 2015 Hwy 141 and the General Store is located at 3051 Hwy 141. Donations are also being accepted at Windermere Store & Windermere Garden Centre.
You can also send donations by e-transfer to fundaswing@gmail.com
So far, the kids have raised $751 after speaking with various community groups such as the Windermere Women’s Institute who they visited recently to help spread the word!
