You can help prevent gender-based violence in Muskoka.
On Sunday, September 24th, don your red gear and join the Walk a Mile in Their Shoes event in Bracebridge’s Memorial Park between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The goal is to raise $30,000 to run youth programs in Muskoka.
Why youth? Because when it comes to violence prevention, reaching youth of all genders during their most formative years is extremely important. The funds raised will support YWCA Muskoka and Muskoka Pride youth programs in 2023-2024. These programs explore issues that help young people develop healthy relationships now and in the future.
Your support will have a direct impact on a young person’s experience of safety and well-being.
THIS IS A WALK FOR EVERYONE.
People of all genders and all ages are encouraged to walk a mile to show you stand in solidarity with women, girls, and Two-Spirit, trans, gender diverse, and queer people who are at the highest risk of experiencing gender-based violence.
The event includes a BBQ lunch.
