On February 24th at 11:40 a.m., Huntsville OPP officers responded to a report of an assault at McDonalds restaurant on King William Street.
The investigation recently concluded and revealed the accused, a male youth, had attacked another youth without provocation with a group of other youth watching and supporting the accused. The victim sustained injuries but did not require medical care.
As a result of the investigation, a 16 year old male of Huntsville Ontario was arrested and charged with 1 count of Assault. The accused was released to the care a parent and is to follow conditions to not communicate with the victim in any way.
The accused is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on May 1, 2025. The name of the accused is not released as per the restrictions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to respect the privacy of the victim.
