The Township of Ramara remains under a state of emergency.
Several relief centres are operating to assist residents who are dealing with a prolongued power outage.
-The Township Administration Building, located at 2297 Highway 12, is open on April 3 and 4 from 9 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
-The Ramara Centre, located at 5482 Highway 12, is open on April 3 from 9 a.m.– 8 p.m. p.m. and April 4 from 9 a.m.– 6 p.m. All programs are cancelled until further notice.
-The Ramara Township Public Library (Ramara Centre location) is open on April 3 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and April 4 from 10 a.m.– 6 p.m. Residents are welcome to stop by to check out books and puzzles.
-The Brechin Mara Legion is open from 9 a.m.- 11 p.m.. For details on hours of operation, please contact the Legion at 705-484-5393.
-All facilities will be open for residents to charge their devices, use the public facilities, and get warm.
Hydro One is actively working to restore power to affected residents.
Operations crews are working to clear roads and respond to downed trees.
Emergency services remain fully operational and are responding to calls throughout the Township.
Township daytime phones are available between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please leave a message for staff to return your call. Residents can also continue to report downed trees on public property or damaged roads by calling the After-Hours line at 705-484-5374, option 9, or online.
Ramara Fire and Rescue Services has a high volume of calls and asks the public to call 9-1-1 only in an emergency.
Residents are encouraged to check in on their neighbours – especially seniors, individuals living alone, or those who may not have access to phones, internet, or social media.
Wellness checks are completed by request. Residents are encouraged to call the Township Administration Centre’s general line (705-484-5374), and staff will respond accordingly.
