The Ontario Fire College in Gravenhurst is set to be decommissioned today.
It was opened in 1949 and every year, approximately 3-5 thousand full-time and volunteer firefighters have trained there.
The college was closed in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the province says it plans to open 20 regional centres in its place.
