Muskoka’s District Chair John Klinck is wishing the region a safe Canada Day.
He’s extending greetings to all residents and visitors to Muskoka as they join together in small groups or virtually to celebrate the day.
“As we celebrate Canada’s153rd birthday, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful country,” he says in a message on behalf of him and council. “It is indeed a privilege to call Canada home and it is a true pleasure to be able to live in or visit Muskoka, especially during these challenging times.”
Klinck says Muskoka communities are fortunate in that they have remained very safe and healthy compared to others during this pandemic.
The District’s main goal as it continues to battle the virus is to work together to maintain the health and safety of our communities.
“We can do this by following the advice of our public health officials,” he says. “I ask that tomorrow, and for the months to come, please join me in putting health and safety above all else by encouraging yourself and your families to wash your hands, maintain physical distancing and wear masks wherever possible. Please remember what makes Muskoka special and let us all come together safely to celebrate Canada as we continue to battle this virus. Together we are making a difference.”
