The Bracebridge Business Improvement Area (BIA) is putting the word out to its members after several downtown shops were the victims of theft Wednesday.
The BIA reports the string of thefts happened along Manitoba Street within several of the retail shops. They are reaching out to members to gather more information for the OPP.
The shoplifting occurred around noon August 12th and involved two women who distracted shopkeepers and pocketed items.
The BIA say the women were caught and confessed to the theft and as a result agreed to return all items to the appropriate shops, but the BIA reports it has become apparent that it happened in more than 1 or 2 stores.
“Because of this, we would like to determine what other stores may have been hit,” reads the BIA message to members. “We are asking members to check their floor stock to ensure it is all accounted for and if you were a business that was affected we would like to know if your product was returned today? If you answer yes to either of these we ask you to reach out to Lindsay Alexander from Little Black Bow as she is gathering a list of what was stolen for the OPP report.”
If anyone has any info to add, contact Alexander at 705 645-0781.
Huntsville OPP also reports that on August 12th,they were called to investigate a break and enter at a business – On the Docks Pub – which is located on Main St. East in Huntsville.
Unknown suspect(s) entered that business sometime between 1 am and 6 am August 12th.
The suspects stole computer equipment and a substantial amount of money.
