A fire has destroyed a local landmark in Port Stanton.
It broke out early Thursday morning at The old Stanton Brothers Convenience Store and Snack Bar, which has been located at the government dock for more than 100 years.
Officials say the fire also damaged a cottage next door, where three occupants managed to escape unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not considered suspicious.
The store had been closed for about two years.
Some photos of the fire have been posted on the Facebook group Cottagers Of The Severn River Unite.
