It’s a big day in the United States, where Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president in a star-studded inauguration this morning.
The ceremony is due to begin at 10 am and Lady Gaga will kick off the event by performing the national anthem.
The inauguration will also feature former presidents, congressional leaders, other entertainers and parades in front of a much smaller, physically-distanced audience amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks will host a 90-minute live primetime program called “Celebrating America.”
Outgoing President Donald Trump issued a “farewell address” yesterday, which you can watch below.
At 78, Biden will be the oldest president ever sworn in and Trump will be the first president in over a century not to attend the event.
Outgoing U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence will attend in his place.
Kamala Harris will also become the 1st Black, South Asian and female vice president in U.S. history.
